Heaven's Door

I kept the deathbed vigil, I
sat here by your side, my heart
is now breaking. I watched you
struggle to breathe, the last breath
of your life. Thinking you were
alone, in this empty cold, place.

I sent prayers winging along, to
be with you as well. Comforting
presence, in your own private little
hell Pain surrounding your body, no
one at your side. Loving thoughts
being sent to you on this
pain racked filled night.

The soul is about ready to leave
this earthly plane as I sit and
wonder about you and what to do
with your remains. We planted the
seeds of friendship we planted and
watched them grow. In loving kindness,
I think beauty did indeed flow.

Angel, you did call me, friendships
love you sent my way my
hearts breaking inside me, mourning this
rueful day Emptiness surrounds me, no
feeling of your presence anymore Your
leaving this all behind you walking
thru another door.

Turn the page you said to
me softly, in the night go
on with the living, I am
leaving wishing you my love tonight.
I'll watch over you if I can,
call to me in the wind,
as you stand on your mountain
and I'll whisper to you let me in.

Friendships carry on over, life remains
to be seen I want you
to live the dream, that long
ago you forseen. Breathe that dream
within you Live this life for me.
I'm standing at heaven's door my
flatlander go on with that dream.

In my silence I sit and wonder my
mind creating scenes wondering whether
or not how much pain and sorrow you were in.

I see you on the mountain
see you in the rain cold
winds blowing no refuge from
this mountains home.

Heart is breaking into pieces
sorrow fills my soul wondering why
you did this going out in
that freezing cold.

Rays of warmth surround you light
is filled with your being smiling
down me from heaven loving
you still remains.

Heavens door is now opening signaling
you to come in walk towards
that light my heart friend you
will always remain within.
