Gazing
Gazing about in wondrous
delight
seeing the mountain come alive with the budding of every bush, tree, and
shrub life extending outward
and reaching up like arms raised in praise of new found life.
Greens as far as the eye
can see, yellow green,
spring green, moss green, forest green, like an artist palette astir with
yet unnamed colors...
The blooming of the maples,
showing red green miniature leaves as yet still unfolded.
Mountain laurel springing forth with an abundance of leaves, wild apple
trees, dog wood, the solitary shaggy hickory, sprouting tufts of hair,
like an ancient man.
Interfaced among the cliff
faces, tiny white blooms,
resembling miniature Queen Anne's Lace.
White tipped flowers, pushing out from last years deadfall. Showing us
the continunity of life..
The air laden with moisture,
promising the coming of rain,
life's nourishment, among these mountains.
Looking over the valley, seeing the peaks surrounded
with the gray white clouds resembling an artist's sketch of unfinished
promises.
Be still, and listen, the
hawks cry!
The robins singing, and there you can hear
the woodpecker tapping out his signature of sounds.
The blue jay winging his way, cawing out his cry.
Be still and listen..
