Nature
I watch the storm clouds
gathering
across the mountain tops,
The winds howling, stirring up debris,
branches bending in the wind,
leaves being torn and scattered.
The darkening, the darkening,
turning daylight into dusk.
Lightening arcing across
the sky,
jagged flashes of light, blinding,
causing the eyes to tear,
Thunder echoing rumbling the earth,
beneath my feet.
The winds blowing across the rocky faces
of the mountains near.
White birch trees felled,
looking like the bones
spewn from the mountains core.
Laying broken, bent, angled sharply
against a darkened forest floor.
Rain pelting downward, blurring
the shapes before us.
Paths undistinguishable, running with water,
rapidly moving downward pooling into hollows and runoffs. Sending leaves
and branches washing away.
Slowly, slowly, natures
rage abates.
Emerging from the glooming, the encompassing green. Appearing to surround
one in a birth of color.
Highlighted, the emerging greens.
Taking over the eye sight.
Forest greens, trees, darkened trunks appearing blackened, saturated with
the rain.
Watch the yellow green of young leaves appearing
to reach out and surround you with the new born colors.
Here, standing I am swallowed
by this forrests life.
For the healing of nature's colors surrounding,
enfolding me is the greatest healing of life.
